Nicki Minaj’s New Lavender MAC VIVA GLAM Lipstick 

As promised, MAC Cosmetics has tweeted the promo pic for Nicki Minaj’s new lavender VIVA Glam lipstick. 

Nicki took to Twitter yesterday with the announcement that she’s going solo as MAC’s VIVA GLAM girl in February of next year, and she also shared that there’s a new lavender shade on its way. 

In the promo pic, Nicki rocks big blonde hair and a bright yellow swimsuit, while in a pool surrounded by both shades of her VIVA GLAM lipstick. MAC Cosmetics tweeted the pic captioned – Going solo in 2013, @NICKIMINAJ’s next Viva Glam Lipstick avail Feb. #BARBZ, you made it trend: #LAVENDERISTHENEWPINK 

So anxiously awaiting Barbz can try out the new lavender in February. 

Is Oprah Shutting Down O? 

During a recent conference Oprah Winfrey admits her O Magazine has suffered greatly since her talk show went off the air and the mag might be headed for the chopping block... 

Oprah says, 

“Obviously, the show was helping in ways that you know I hadn’t accounted for.” 

“I’m not interested, you know, in bleeding money." 

Ultimately Oprah says the magazine, which experienced a 22 percent drop in newsstand sales after her show went off the air, will stop publishing if it's not profitable 

Regardless she isn’t bothered…..I’m still TEAM O’! 

Did Fabolous Shade Emily B In New Track? 

Fresh off of being together on Fabolous' birthday, a new track has come out from Fabolous titled "Want You Back" which many are saying is a diss track towards Fabolous' sons mother, Emily B. The track features Joe Budden (who many are saying is dissing his ex-girlfriend Tahiry on the song as well) and Teyana Taylor. 

Here are a few lines from the track that have folks up in arms below: 

"I took you back, even when my friends told me not to. You wanted to give up on us, as long as there was season 2. So I fight for us, long as there was reason 2. You wanted to give up on us, long as there was season 2. Now if I was guarding Derrick Rose, I would be more understanding but you aint Derek Rose. You was my number 1 but uh, you aint Derrick Rose.”

Even though the song insinuates that there may be some tension between Fabolous and Emily B, I doubt the two are having trouble in paradise. But we shall see…won’t we? 

LeBron James Honored As 2012 Sportsman Of The Year In NYC 

LeBron James is the new 2012 Sportsman of the Year, and he copped his award at a big honoree ceremony in NYC.  And his fiancee Savannah Brinson was there to celebrate, as well as his homie Jay-Z and wife Beyonce. 

LeBron and Savannah made it a celebratory date night while attending the 2012 Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year award presentation at Espace in NYC. 

The twosome made their way to the Miami Heat star's big awards ceremony, and had a few of their A-list friends there to celebrate the ocassion as well--The Carters: 

Savannah looked great in a mesh detailed purple cocktail dress while Bey kept it cool in an oxblood pantsuit.  LeBron kept it dapper in an off-black suit himself. 

Fab couple indeed. 

LeBron posed on the carpet with his trophy. 

And he snapped pics with Hov and his US Olympic Team coach Mike "Coach K" Krzyzewski. 

Bron tweeted a pic of him and his fab fiancee saying, "I'm good."

Bob Marley Relaxing Drink Sickens Students in NJ 

A popular beverage that was created in partnership with the Bob Marley family and sold in some New Jersey schools has been banned after its stated effects made children feel sleepy and ill, according to Fox News. 

Marley’s Mellow Mood, which is typically found in convenience stores and gas stations, is part of a new trend of “relaxation” products.  The drink, which prominently features an image of the late reggae star on its label, was also available for sale at the William R. Satz School and Holmdel High School in Holmdel, N.J. 

The beverage contains valerian, which is a medicinal herb that has not been subjected to extensive testing.  Valerian is used for treating insomnia, stress, and anxiety, and there reportedly hasn’t been much research done on the potential effects it has on children. 

Ironically, the beverage’s label has a warning that indicates it may cause drowsiness and is not intended for children. 

The Marley family drink also contains other ingredients, such as lemon balm, hops, passion flower, and chamomile. 

The company issued a statement in which it said it takes this situation very seriously. 

It’s unclear what the students’ symptoms were. 

Shots Fired!? White Female Rappers Snow tha Product and Lega-C Beefin? 

A war of words exploded on Twitter recently between supporters of Atlantic Records artist Snow tha Product (“Cookie Cutter B*tches”) and independent rapper Lega-C (“White Girl Raps Fast”). The drama seems to have started after Strange Music boss  TechN9ne tweeted at Lega-C on November 29. 

Several dummy Twitter accounts, including one named @SnowVsLega_C, immediately began popping up attacking Lega-C, born Danielle McLean, and a pornographic picture of a naked and bound female with the caption “The Real Lega-C” was then circulated to followers of the Tulsa, Oklahoma native. A year ago today, Lega-C confirmed the existence of a sex tape and lewd pictures showing her with a snake, but denied that the photo currently floating around Twitter is actually her.

The uproar reached critical mass on December 2 after hundreds of tweets were volleyed back and forth between supporters of both artists, including some speculating that the “murder victim” in Lega-C’s disturbing Youtube music video, “That Bitch”, is actually portraying Snow, prompting the Dallas, TX native, whose street-ready mixtape Good Nights & Bad Mornings drops December 12, to send a tweet distancing herself from the drama.

For her part, Lega-C refused to speak on the true nature of the beef, other than to say that she addresses the situation on bonus video footage contained on a deluxe CD version of her major indie debut Block Starz Music/Select-O-Hits release Off My Medication, which be in stores nationwide on January 22.

Rihanna Brings “Styled To Rock” Reality Series To The Style Network 

Rihanna will be hitting the small screen soon with a fashion reality series that FAILED Iin the U.K on the Style network, titled Styled to Rock. 

RiRi will star in and executive produce the show, which will feature 12 up-and-coming designers, hand-picked by Rihanna, who will create fashion pieces for A-list celebrity talent. This is her second go at the series, as she did the same show in the UK months back. After struggling to find viewers, the show was nixed; only to be picked up by US Style Network. 

“Fashion has always played an integral part in my life and career,” said Rihanna. “I am so excited to partner with Style Network and share my creative insight with these 12 designers and give them this opportunity to showcase their work.” 

Deadline reports: 

To help the selected 12 designers, Rihanna will enlist the guidance of top experts from the fashion industry to serve as mentors. Each week, challenges will push the designers to their creative limits when they are tasked with styling an A-list star. Each week’s celebrity guest will determine which designer best achieves their vision — and advances to the next week of competition. Faced with the threat of elimination, the remaining designers must meet with the mentors to discuss where they fell short and ultimately who will be sent home. In the end, one designer will be named the winner. 

Additionally…During the summer it was announced that Rihanna teamed up with UK brand River Island for a capsule collection that will launch in the Spring of 2013. On Monday, she tweeted the above pic from the set of the campaign shoot. RiRi’s carrying her busy schedule on into 2013, with her North American “Diamonds World Tour” kicking off in March.

A couple that gave birth to sextuplets in 2010 have become the inspirational stars of a new reality television program as they juggle marriage, working together and six demanding toddlers. 

Mia and Rozonno McGhee, and their six bundles of joy, gained internet fame after Mia posted a picture on Facebook and was then asked to appear on Oprah. 

Now, on Six Little McGhees, premiering December 15, the parents reveal what it's really like to bring up six children at once. Mr McGhee explains to the camera: 'Six babies crying, can you picture that?' 

The McGhees' are high school sweethearts who never imagined they would give birth to Columbus, Ohio's first sextuplets.

In a sneak peek of the OWN reality series, Mr McGhee says of their daily routine: 'A typical day for me and Mia? We wake up around 5.30am, brush our teeth, clean up, get it together.'

'Let me tell you,' he says. 'Living together and going to work together is not easy at all.' 

Mrs McGhee interjects, 'It's not?' before Mr McGhee responds with a smile, 'No, it's not.' 

Cheekily, Mr McGhee says: 'I love it, I love going to work with my wife, sitting in the same car, in the same room all day. 'I love the way you yell at me,' he says smiling at his unimpressed wife.'

Alicia Keys is about to get sued for a lyric she lifted for her hit single Girl on Fire... 

According to Showbiz 411 Earl Shuman, who wrote 'Hey There Lonely Girl' in the 60s, is taking Alicia to court because she uses a portion of Lonely Girl for Girl on Fire without giving him credit. 

Shuman says, while he likes Alicia's song, he expects to get paid for his work. 

Eminem’s Daughter Hallie Tells Taylor Swift “Stop Whoring Around With Every Guy She Sees” 

Eminem’s daughter Hallie Scott Mathers is a big fan of One Direction and has a huge crush on Harry Styles who is dating Taylor Swift. Hallie took to twitter to tell Taylor Swift stop ‘Whoring Around With Every Guy’…

Chris Bosh Wins his Child Support Case!

The messy child support battle between Miami Heat star Chris Bosh and his baby mama Alison Mathis is over and Chris made out like a fat rat... 

Alison Mathis just lost a ruling that would have upped her child support order from $2,600 a month to a whopping $30,000 a month! 

Alison had been trying to convince a judge in Florida that Chris is a legal resident of Miami, which would have voided the support agreement put in place by a judge in Texas. 

The judge didn't agree and Chris was just declared a legal resident of Texas so the original child support order stands. 

Alison famously applied for food stamps at the height of the child support battle claiming she was destitute.

"LAHH ATL" couple Lil' Scrappy and Erica Dixon were spotted having a little fun at Onyx strip club in Atlanta 

The couple were joined by a few Falcons players and DJ Nando who all cheered while watching Scrappy make it drizzle (because we don't think tossing a few singles counts as "rain").

Eve Sends Subliminal Diss Toward Lauryn Hill

Eve Jihan Jeffers aka E-V-E aka Ruff Ryders First Lady aka “The Pit Bull In A Skirt” hit the stage during Rock The Bells in California this past weekend. The femcee ran through a a few of her well-known hits, but also gave the audience a taste of something new, a freestyle over Jay-Z and Kanye West’s international ballers anthem “Ni**as In Paris”.

At the end of her verse Eve kicks a line that says:

 “Spread the word that I’m back, these b***hes in debt better pay their tax, I said these b***hes in debt better pay their tax.”

We never heard anything about Eve and Lauryn had beef, but these line sound a little too pointed if you ask us.

Nicki Minaj Brings Out Foxy Brown At FREE CONCERT In NYC, 

Nicki Minaj kept her promise and gave her fans a big 2 hour FREE concert in NYC Tuesday night...after all that hoopla at Summer Jam went down causing her to not perform there. 

Nicki surprised the crowd with a few of her celebrity friends, including Foxy Brown.

Onika brought her fellow New York rapstress on stage Tuesday night to help put on for the Pepsi/Fuse free live streamed concert at Roseland Ballroom. 

Foxy Boogie came out to support, since she was also set to perform as Nicki's guest at Summer Jam.  The two performed for the crowd.  And Nicki told Foxy there was no other female rapper who opened more doors for her...than Fox Boogie herself.  She also said many female rappers don't support others like they should.  We all know who THAT was geared too...

Olympic Swimmer Ryan Lochte Shows Off His Ice Grill and he’s dating K Michelle?

Watch out Michael Phelps. Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte was coming for necks this weekend as he snatched up the Gold in the 400m Individual medley on Saturday. But it wasn’t his ‘gold’ metal that had the internet buzzing.

It was Ryan Lochte’s customized ice grill, that had everyone talking. He wore a set of grills custom designed like the American Flag after his win on Saturday all while pissing off the Summer Games officials. He was banned from wearing his red, white and blue blinged out teeth at the podium, however, he compromised and instead put them in for photo opps afterward.

Ryan Lochte was definitely doing it for the ratchets. #Swimhood.

Move Over Lauryn Hill – Drake Says He’s The Best That Ever Did It

Oh Drizzy, Drizzy, Drizzy. You’re arrogance leaves me in a tizzy.
Forget Lauryn Hill and Kanye West or even Queen Latifah. Drake says while those rappers and countless others have rapped and sang on their tracks he believes he’s the best that ever did it.
“There were people who incorporated melody before me,” Drake told the Jewish Chronicle, “but I would deem myself the first person to successfully rap and sing.”

Please Lord if you love me let Kanye address this on a track ASAP! I don’t ask for much in life.
As for his emo-rapper persona Drake says it’s who he is.

“Yes, there are aspects of it that are new in the rap world. But it’s not a gimmick. I just sort of exist and people embrace it,” he explained.

“I’m one of the few artists who gets to be himself every day. It doesn’t take me six hours to get ready and I don’t have to wake up in the morning and remember to act like this or talk like this. I just have to be me. That’s one of the favourite parts of my life – I’ve done this purely by being myself.”…

UM WHATEVER But in other Drake news, He he attended a Baby Shower back home in Toronto last weekend.

Drake and his Ovo team has been back home in Toronto chillin'. And since he was back in the land of his roots, he Instagramed a side of him we rarely see. Like his very first car (a Malibu) and his first crew.

Oprah Can Kiss That OJ Interview Goodbye

Last year Oprah Winfrey revealed her most coveted interview would be with OJ Simpson and that she dreams of him confessing to the murders of Nicole Brown-Simpson and Ron Goldman on her show

Pals of OJ Simpson claim Oprah producers have been hounding him for his first interview from jail, but say the last person he'd ever give an interview to is Oprah Winfrey. 

In a documentary about The Juice called "The Unpromotable”, OJ even partly blames Oprah for his incarceration for armed robbery.

One of the producers for The Unpromotable, Norman Pardo, says Oprah never had any pro-OJ guests on her show and in a trailer for the doc, OJ himself claims in a voice-over,
"‘Oprah Winfrey’ … [guests] would say something that everyone knew wasn’t true, and she wouldn’t get them on it,”
Pardo tells The NY Daily News
“She dreams that O.J. comes on her show and confesses his sins, and that’s just sort of silly. That would be like Oprah going on Fox News and confessing how bad she ran OWN network. It’s not going to happen!”

Casper Smart Caught At Gay Peep Show?

Jennifer Lopez' boy toy Casper Smart was spotted entering a well-known gay peep show in New York.

Poor Jennifer Lopez. The gay rumors about her boyfriend Casper Smart just won't go away. The latest one has him visiting a sleazy porn peep show that's known to be a pick-up spot for men seeking anonymous gay sex. And this time there are photos. Oops. Does Casper have some serious 'splainin' to do?

It sure looks like it. According to the folks at Media Take Out, JLo's boytoy was recently snapped going into a so-called love booth, commonly called a peep show. He was also photographed leaving the establishment which is reportedly located "near NYCs Time Square—one of the most DISGUSTING and FILTHY areas of the city." Oh, the horror. At the first Caspar Smart peep show sighting, MTO wondered "what man STILL goes into peep shows [since]... even GAY DUDES gave that up in 1995!!!"
Alas, as MTO later discovered some "gay dudes" did not abandon the peep shows back in the day. Apparently, the video booths are still going strong. In fact, the establishment visited by Mr. Smart allegedly boasts a clientele devoted to anonymous gay sex, most of which is rumored to be accomplished by means of "glory holes" strategically cut through the plywood walls of the booths. Think about it; you'll figure it out. Anyhow, according to an MTO snitch—er—roving reporter named Bimbo Winehouse, the establishment visited by JLo's man sports walls riddled with glory holes. Yikes. This shocking revelation has led MTO to ask if Jennifer Lopez's entire relationship with Caspar Smart is a scam—er—sham—er—"fraud." Ouch.

90′s R&B Group EnVogue Twitter Fight, Group Breaking Up Once Again

Sad news one of the 90′s top female R&B groups “EnVogue” have been confirmed to have broken up once again… Just so yall know the group has won more MTV Video Music Awards than any other female group in MTV history, a total of seven, along with four Soul Train Awards, six American Music Awards, and seven Grammy nominations. According to Billboard Magazine they were the 18th most successful act of the 1990s, and one of the most popular and successful female groups of all time. I just hate that these old groups can’t ever get their act’s together, its about the music not the attitude. $$$ Dawn Robinson from EnVogue announced via Twitter that she and Maxine Jones were leaving the group and that the two will be rehearsing for a tour of their own.

Dawn’s shocking Twitter outburst prompted a response from original members Cindy Herron and Terry Ellis people sending me this email for all the EnVogue fans …

“Dear EnVogue fans,
In regards to the recent twitter and face book posts alleging that Terry and Cindy have replaced Maxine Jones with Rhona, we would like to respond. Terry and Cindy are not replacing Maxine Jones. We have however asked Rhona to fill in temporarily so that we can continue to bring live shows to our fans. Thus far, Rhona has only done three shows with us since June 2012. The group has always added someone whenever a member has been unable or unwilling to perform or has left the group. Terry and I have not kicked Maxine out of the group. There are always two sides to a story and many internal facts that you the fans aren’t hearing about. In an effort to not air dirty laundry, or appear to point the finger at anyone, we respectfully choose to remain silent on the internal issues. We appreciate you the fans continuing to support Envogue individually, and as a whole.

ESSENCE reports The youngest foxy brown of the early 90′s female glam quartet En Vogue, but she quickly became known as the rebel diva when things began to fall apart with the songbirds.
After leaving the group and becoming the frontwoman for the R&B trio Lucy Pearl, Robinson has kept a low profile until the group’s recent reunion.
The sultry siren took the time out to set the record straight with ESSENCE.com about the drama behind EV and Lucy Pearl, why she’s not a bitter woman and what really happened between her and her husband.

ESSENCE.COM: So how does it feel to be back with En Vogue?
DAWN ROBINSON: It feels like home; the family you haven’t seen in a while. One of the things I missed was that we laughed a lot. Terrie really missed her calling as a comedian; she’s so funny. I love people that can laugh at themselves. We have our audience and they held a torch for us.

ESSENCE.COM: When did that torch’s fame go out for the group?
ROBINSON: We were doing the lion’s share of the work but we were making the least. I started seeing it earlier when you get into the industry you come in after having a degree in accounting. You get caught up before you truly [understand] that contract and know what questions to ask. All of those contracts are written in Old English and you’re like, Huh? Nobody talks like that. We had legal counsel but if you still don’t understand because it’s not broken down in layman terms for you it’s difficult to know the right questions to ask.

ESSENCE.COM: So because you spoke up you were deemed a problem?
ROBINSON: The misconception about me is that I am difficult, a problem, a b—-. But when people try to take your hard-earned money and you stand up for it this is what happens when you’re a woman. If I was a man I wouldn’t be accused of such things. I’m glad I stood up. I was just trying to see what was going on with us financially because it wasn’t making sense and I realized after meeting with another lawyer that there were so many things in there that weren’t in our favor.

ESSENCE.COM: It’s hard to imagine with the group’s crossover success that you all were not given a better deal.
ROBINSON: We started opening our eyes and were like, we need to rectify this. It was just frustrating because most artists, once they start to have a certain amount of success, they throw out that [first] contract and start over with a new one, but we never renegotiated. There was a little fear that came in like any job when there’s a union standing behind you. I didn’t have that and the ladies realized later that I was just trying to stand up and look out for the group. The ladies know and we’ve all atoned and they’ve apologized to me in certain ways. I wouldn’t want to change anything because En Vogue and Lucy Pearl helped me to grow.

ESSENCE.COM: Now that you’ve reunited with En Vogue, any chance of a Lucy Pearl reunion?
ROBINSON: Lucy Pearl is one of my favorite groups. I loved the creation me and Raphael had together since we were kids, creating this whole sound and how we came up with the idea of Lucy Pearl, because it was our idea as opposed to En Vogue, which was put together. I had a deal on the table with RCA, who had Tyrese and Coko signed to solo deals at the time, but I chose to do another group because I believed it was the smartest idea–three super artists to make one super group–and to be able to bring the knowledge I [acquired] was going to make it a stronger situation. Plus, the album was insane. I tried to talk to him about a reunion, but Ali had a lawsuit against him because he felt like he did him wrong because we found out later that Raphael had made side deals. I believe there’s strength in numbers not to get money but when God puts something together this great you don’t walk away from it, you work it out. But his ego got in the way. I was really sad that it was only a one-off. We decided that we wouldn’t commit to a long-term situation unless album sales made sense. So we just disbanded, but they have to have a scapegoat so they are going to blame Dawn and say I’m the difficult one.

Question Of The Day: Did Nicki Minaj Invite Azealia Banks On Tour?

We’ve all been gunning for female unity in Hip Hop so how great would it have been for one of the hottest up and coming rappers, Azealia Banks, to join Nicki Minaj on tour. Earlier today, Azealia took to her twitter page to announce that she had been invited on tour with Nicki Minaj but had to turn down the opportunity because she’s trying to finish recording her album.

This makes logical sense, considering Nicki Minaj had to make the same decision back in 2010, when she was invited to tour with Rihanna but had to decline because she was finishing her debut album, ‘Pink Friday’.
At any rate, hours later, Nicki Minaj sent out a subliminal tweet that suggested that she may have never asked Azealia to begin with.

JAY-Z EXECUTIVE PRODUCES NBA 2K13

Jay-Z already owns a stake in the Brooklyn Nets, and now he is extending his love for sports with a new venture. The Roc Nation CEO has been tapped to executive produce NBA 2K13.
In his new role, Mr. Carter will oversee the soundtrack for the latest installment in 2K Sports’ popular video game franchise. You can hear his Black Album cut “Public Service Announcement” in the 24-second trailer. His name also appears on the cover art for the game, which hits shelves on October 2.

This is just the latest business move for the hip-hop mogul, who appeared in a black-and-white commercial for Duracell Powermat earlier this month.

SAVAGES! Wolf pack' of drunken girls who 'stabbed 63-year-old veteran on NY subway!

A 63-year-old war veteran was attacked and stabbed by a group of young girls on a subway after he rebuked them for being too noisy.
The group of girls - who were thought to be drunk - were aged between 15 and 20 and were traveling on a New York subway early on Sunday morning.
Ralph Carnegary, of Queens, said he was on his way to work as a souvenir vendor on Wall Street when he encountered the gang around 6.15am.

A witnes said the eight girls started punching Mr Carnegary with their fists and as he was trying to shield himself and block their punches one of them allegedly yelled: 'Go for him' and 'cut him'
He told the New York Daily News he 'couldn't hear himself think' and made a remark to his friend about them being 'retarded' if they felt the need to talk so loudly.
When he told the group to calm down and be quiet, that's when they turned on him, a witness said.
The eight girls started punching Mr Carnegary with their fists. He was trying to shield himself and block their punches when one of them allegedly yelled: 'Go for him' and 'cut him'.

It was then that one of them stabbed the veteran in the shoulder - which required treatment of seven stitches in hospital.
He told the Daily News: 'I didn’t think they were actually going to knife me. The oldest one didn’t look no more than 18 or 19. I couldn’t believe they did that.'

Police arrested Shanice Brown, 20, Kimberly Molina, 20, Starmeik Driggins, 19, and Sheyla Figueroa, 18, all from Brooklyn.
Also Martha Bermudez and Sha-steva Burdos both 17 and from Queens, and Michelle Rodriguez, 19, of the Bronx.
A 15-year-old girl from Queens was also arrested, but her name was not released because she is a juvenile.
A city bus driver who witnessed their arrest told the New York Post that the women, beers in hand, were yelling: 'We didn’t do anything!' as they were being cuffed.

A knife was recovered at the scene. All are charged with gang assault, assault, menacing, rioting, criminal possession of a weapon and disorderly conduct.

OOOPS, In an email obtained by Roland Martin, the executors of Michael Jackson's estate have effectively banned Janet, Rebbie, Randy, his children, Jermaine, his wife, their children and anyone else who was involved in isolating Katherine Jackson in Arizona last week.

The email reads in part,
“Given the circumstances of the last two weeks, and in order to protect the children and Mrs. Jackson, the Executors believe that it would not be appropriate to allow the following individuals to enter the residence or its grounds and we instruct the security to preclude the following from entering the residence or the grounds: Randy Jackson and any of his children, Janet Jackson, Rebbie Jackson and any of her children, Jermaine Jackson, his wife and any of his children, Janice Smith, or anyone else who was involved in the recent events that led to Mrs. Jackson’s separation from and inability to communicate with Michael’s children, or any agents or representatives of any of these individuals,”

“There will be no other security or drivers allowed on the property except those employed by the Estate of Michael Jackson. Joe Jackson is precluded from entering the property. Howard Mann who is in litigation against the Estate and is working with the Jackson siblings that wrote the “letter” should also not be allowed on the premises.”
