NYPD stop-and-frisk a black teen for being ‘A F*CKING MUTT’?

NYPD officers stop-and-frisk black teen for being ‘a f*cking mutt’!!
New York Police Department officers berated a young African-American man named Alvin during a so-called stop-and-frisk in 2011, an audio recording obtained by The Nation revealed. In the clip, the officers tell Alvin that he is being stopped because he kept looking at them with his hood up. As he was being searched, one officer threatened to arrest Alvin for “being a fucking mutt.” Another officer added: “Dude, I’m gonna break your fuckin’ arm, then I’m gonna punch you in the fuckin’ face.” But the officers were apparently unable to find anything illegal on Alvin and he was not arrested.
He grabbed me by my bookbag and he started pushing me down. So I’m going backwards like down the hill and he just kept pushing me, pushing me, it looked like he we was going to hit me. I felt like they was trying to make me resist or fight back,” Alvin told The Nation.
New York City’s controversial stop-and-frisk policy allows police officers to stop, question and search anyone who looks suspicious. The policy is aimed at finding illegal guns and drugs, but has face a slew of criticism from those who contend the aggressive searches target ethnic minorities. The NYPD detained 684,330 people in 2011 under the city’s stop-and-frisk policy. At least nine out of 10 people stopped were innocent, and 87 percent of them were either black or Latino.

Watch video, courtesy of The Nation

Alvin, who was not arrested during the stop and does not have a criminal record, called 911 to report the aggressive search immediately after it occurred and has been waiting on mediation for over a year now. "There's been no way to get behind the blue wall," said Schneider.

"This audio confirms what we've been hearing from communities of color, again and again," NYCLU executive director Donna Lieberman told the Nation. "They are repeatedly subjected to abusive and disrespectful treatment at the hands of the NYPD." Faiza Patel of the Brennan Center suggested, "An independent inspector general would be in a position to review NYPD policies and practices — like the recorded stop-and-frisk shown here — to see whether the police are violating New Yorkers' rights and whether the program is in fact yielding benefits."
Just yesterday, Mayor Bloomberg shot down that idea yet again. "I think if you want to bring crime back, let's go politicize control of the Police Department," he said. "The last thing we need is some politician or judge getting involved with setting policy, because you won't be safe anymore." But the ugliness of this recording can't be the only other option.

Chavis Carter Shoots Himself In The Head WHILE HANDCUFFED?!?

Chavis Carter Shoots Himself In The Head, While Handcuffed In The Back Of A Police Car?
Teresa Carter just doesn’t understand what happened to her son Chavis Carter in the back of a police car. How did Chavis Carter manage to shoot himself in the head while he was handcuffed in the back of a police car? That is the question investigators must answer after the 21-year-old who died at the hospital of an alleged self-inflicted gunshot. Here is the police account of the story: Chavis Carter was a passenger in a white pickup truck that was stopped just before 10 o’clock last Saturday night (JUL28) in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Officer Keith Baggett said while he searched the vehicle, Officer Ron Marsh questioned and searched Chavis. He reportedly found “some marijuana” and several new plastic baggies on Chavis.
According to the report, Officer Marsh ran Chavis’s information through dispatch and learned that he was wanted on a warrant in Southaven, Mississippi — were Chavis lived. After confirming the warrant, Officer Marsh had Chavis “exit the patrol unit, placed him into handcuffs, searched him a second time then placed him into the back seat of the patrol unit.”
Everything sounds on the up and up and is pretty standard procedure. However, what happened next blows their story out of the water. As police went about their investigation, Officer Baggett said a car passed and then he heard “a loud thump with a metallic sound.” At the time he believed the vehicle had run over a piece of metal on the road.
When the two officers on the scene returned to the car, they claim Chavis was “slumped forward,” in the back seat. Officer Marsh said there was a large amount of blood on Chavis’ shirt, pants, seat and floor. He also said Chavis’ hands were still cuffed behind his back. A small caliber handgun was reportedly found beside him. The gun, they said, was somehow missed in both searches.
Seeing that Chavis was still breathing, Officer Marsh radioed for an ambulance and a supervisor. Chavis was taken to St. Bernards Regional Medical Center where he later died of his injury.
Although Jonesboro police are conducting their own investigation, the FBI has now joined the case and started their own investigation into the bizarre incident. “We’ve been asked to get involved,” Kim Brunell, a spokeswoman for the FBI’s Little Rock office said. “The bureau’s ballistics experts will join the probe.”
Teresa Carter, Chavis’s mother has her own theory, “I think they killed him, my son wasn’t suicidal”, said Teresa. She says her son called his girlfriend while pulled over, to say he’d call her from jail. The mother said she was also told her son was shot in his right temple. But she says he was left handed. She says it just doesn’t add up.
Both of the officers involved have been placed on administrative leave while the incident is investigated. Will there be justice for Chavis Carter or will the investigators decide the young man was a modern-day Houdini and managed to shoot himself.

I don't believe it for one mintue! He was murdered...Your Thoughts?

To Be Young, Black & Latino, Gay and Harassed by the Police!

Gay Youth of Color Complain of West Village Stop and Frisk
Tamir Tanner (above) was among the youth who complained of NYPD harassment in the West Village. Sitting on the West Village piers on a sunny afternoon, Tamir Tanner scowled when the New York City Police Department (NYPD) practice of stopping and frisking was mentioned.
“It’s just not fair,” the 27-year-old said. “It’s really not fair to anybody to be stopped and frisked.”
Tanner estimated that he had been stopped by police in the Sixth Precinct, which patrols Manhattan’s West Village, about 10 times in July of last year.
“They rolled past,” Tanner said. “I guess I looked suspicious to them… I started to feel like they had a problem with me.”

According to a report by the New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU), police stopped and frisked 685,724 people citywide in 2011. Fifty-three percent of those stopped were African-American and 34 percent were Latino. They were also disproportionately young and male. Police stopped and frisked 97,296 people in 2002.
While there were relatively few stops and frisks in the Sixth Precinct in 2011 — just 2,954 — 76.6 percent of those stopped were African-American and Latino. Just eight percent of the residents in that precinct are African-American or Latino, so it is apparent who the police are stopping — the queer youth of color who enjoy hanging out in the West Village and who have been the subject of complaints by some residents there.

“We do know that a lot of our constituency… are stopped in the West Village,” said Ellen Manny Vaz, the communications director at FIERCE, a group that organizes among LGBT youth of color. “These numbers are not surprising. They definitely coincide with what our members are reporting.”
The NYPD, which did not respond to an email seeking comment, has argued that stop and frisk is a necessary anti-crime strategy that has contributed to New York City’s low crime rates. Part of the police rationale for the practice is that it deters those who may carry a weapon because they fear that weapon will be found during a stop and frisk.
The NYCLU report found that the tactic is producing diminishing returns. In 2003, police recovered 604 guns after stopping and frisking 160,851 people. Stops grew by more than 300 percent in 2011 over 2003, but police recovered 780 guns last year. At 176 more guns than in 2003, that is a 29 percent increase.
The report did not say if any guns were recovered in the Sixth Precinct as the result of stop and frisk. The NYCLU press office could not answer that question.
That stop and frisk is being used in the Sixth Precinct is odd. It has been and remains a low-crime precinct. There was one murder in the Sixth Precinct last year compared to 515 citywide. That precinct reported six rapes in 2011 compared to 1,414 citywide, 44 robberies compared to 19,752 citywide, and 38 felony assaults compared 18,579 citywide.
Opponents of stop and frisk say that beyond violating the rights of those who are stopped, it also alienates people in the communities where it is practiced. There is some evidence of that in the West Village.
“I hate it, I hate it,” said Eliezer Pardo,(above) 32, who was passing time with a friend on one of the West Village piers that jut into the Hudson River. “It makes a lot of us stop coming out here… They don’t treat straight people the way they treat gay people. They harass gay people.”
FIERCE’s Vaz seconded that saying, “It’s not really helping to create safer communities. In fact, it causes negative relationships.”
Pardo said he has prior arrests, and he added that some of the youth who hang out in the West Village do break the law, but, in his view, that does not excuse the NYPD’s use of stop and frisk.
“To be realistic, I can’t blame it all on them because a lot of the people out here, they don’t act right,” he said. “I understand why they do their job, but they take it overboard.”
West Village residents have for years been complaining about the young people of color who hang out there. Efforts to reach an accommodation in 2005 and 2006 made at the local community board were unsuccessful. However they were successful in getting the bar Chi Chi's closed and now they're trying to do the same with Club Escualita's in Midtown too!
Its bad enough they experience racial and class issues within from some in the Gay Community as well as society. Now unfortunately this too!

WTF!?! White Cop Kicks Black Pregnant Woman in the Stomach?

A White police officer admits kicking nine-month pregnant Black woman in the stomach... and receives NO punishment

JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL FOR REAL! A Georgia policeman has come under fire for kicking a pregnant woman so hard she was forced to have an emergency C-section.
Raven Dozier said that when officer Jerad Wheeler came to her house to quell her brother's dispute with her mother, Wheeler used a Taser on him.

She cried out and Wheeler pounced, kicking the nine-month pregnant woman in the stomach and charging her with obstruction.

Her baby Levi was born after emergency surgery and now she's demanding that Wheeler pay for his 'brutal' use of force.

Officers shot her brother with a stun gun and she cried out, causing officer Wheeler to give her a 'front push-kick to the abdomen,' according to his official report.
He said that he couldn't tell she was pregnant because it was dark and she was wearing loose clothing.
Wheeler justified his actions further by saying he used an officially sanctioned move he was 'taught to do at the academy.'
'What kind of a human being kicks a pregnant woman? I mean, forget whether or not it is a police officer that is supposedly protecting people,' Mrs Dozier's attorney Mark Bullman said to WSBTV.

Wheeler dragged the injured pregnant woman to jail, but the guards refused to book her for obstruction, seeing her protruding stomach.
Mrs Dozier filed a complaint with the police department, but it was never investigated, according to WSBTV, and several supervisors signed off on Wheeler's behavior.
But WSBTV uncovered this incident was just the latest in which Wheeler used force against bystanders.
In September 2011, a 53-year-old woman said Wheeler assaulted her at the scene of her daughter's car accident, where she had gone to help with her young grandchildren.
The woman said Wheeler twisted her arm behind her back and pushed her face down in the patrol car, but he was exonerated.
In January of this year, another family complained after Wheeler responded to the wrong address and shot their dog - while it was leashed inside their garage.
'It's showing that there is an ongoing pattern and practice of attempting to clear officers of clearly illegal, unconstitutional, and improper conduct,' Mr Bullman said.
Wheeler has been a police officer since 2008, and according to his Facebook, he is a combat aficionado.
His posts detail a life consisting of numerous fighting tournaments, jiujitsu and combat training sessions.
Photos and videos of him pummeling his opponents are plastered across his Facebook page.
His girlfriend is a clerk at the Georgia State Senate office.
Two weeks after the incident with Wheeler, doctors had to perform an emergency C-section because they found that the baby had defecated inside the womb.
'Something should be done. Men go to jail every day for hitting women and it's not OK just because he is a police officer,' Mrs Dozier said.

The DeKalb County police department declined to comment on the case but told WSBTV an investigation has been opened.

Ladies….Would you let your 3 year old nurse on your Nipple?
Time Magazine released the controversial cover above today asking Mom’s everywhere the question, “Are you Mom enough?”
The cover features a young mother breastfeeding what appears to be a 3-year-old son, standing on a chair in front of her.
While the image is quite provocative, it’s clearly meant to create dialogue about the touchy subject of breast feeding or more specifically “attachment parenting,” which has become an even touchier subject.
Time Magazine photographer Martin Schoeller photographed four families from across the country who practice this method of motherhood. Using religious images of the Madonna and Child as reference, Schoeller captured each mother breast-feeding her child or children.
Jamie Lynne Grumet, the mom featured on the cover illustrating staff writer Kate Pickert’s cover story is a mother from Los Angeles who subscribes to the idea attachment parenting.

Photographer Schoeller explains his concept:
When you think of breast-feeding, you think of mothers holding their children, which was impossible with some of these older kids.
I liked the idea of having the kids standing up to underline the point that this was an uncommon situation.
The article features 4 moms total who subscribe to the controversial method and Schoeller shot them all in a one day photoshoot for the mag.

One mom, Donna Ford, who lives in Kansas City, Mo., says she once watched a video of a British woman breast-feeding her 7-year-old daughter and thought she would never do the same… That is… until she discovered how difficult it was to wean her own son off breast milk.

“After six months, I decided I’d wait until he turned 1,” she says. “But after my baby turned a year old, he was still a baby — not talking, barely walking — and I wondered why I’d stop now.”
The debate over right vs. wrong parenting will continue until the end of time, but “old school” mothers have always maintained that if the child is “old enough to ask for it, it’s time to stop.”
How old is too old to breast feed?
Mom? Dads? Feel free to share your thoughts on the matter…

Did Lil Wayne Tell Girlfriend Dhea To “Kick Rocks” Over Twitter?
Sources are saying Lil Wayne told his girlfriend/fiance Dhea to kick rocks. Its being “alleged” that Dhea posed for a photo shoot for a popular men’s magazine and Weezy wasn’t having it. She also created a Twitter account much to the dismay of Lil’ Wayne.

According to the source, Weezy felt like Dhea was trying to capitalize off his name and get a little fame like Amber Rose did Kanye, but I would say now she’s famous anyway just by being linked to him, don’t you think?

Weezy took to his twitter page, and wrote a message:
“Like my girl low key, no photoshoots, no twitter, no none of dat sh!t…just tune,”

Meek Mill Denies Cup Cakin’ With Rihanna, “I actually got a girl at home..”

Well Last week, the word on the street was that Rihanna and Meek Mill (real name Robert Williams) might be an item of some sort. Welp, we were 100% wrong. In an interview with Rap-Up, Meek clears up the cup cakin’ air.
“Rihanna she was on Twitter talking about she liked a few of my songs on Twitter. And I think the blog game took it to another level. I actually got a girl at home. I be arguing with my girls about blogs and interviews about her. I don’t really be trying to go there with my girlfriend over blogs. It be f*cking up my life a little bit.”
Awhile back, I heard that Meek Mill’s girlfriend, was the mother of his child. Well, ain’t that cute! P.S. Meek Mill’s son is already rockin’ bling.

And in non-cakin’-news, Meek’s signed a management deal with Roc Nation managent. He confirmed with Life & Times:
“Yeah, that’s the new deal I put together…..Me coming up in this rap game, I was always an underground artist coming up by myself and making all of the moves by myself. And my manager – he’s just like me, we’ve been coming up in the streets by ourselves. So we just decided to partner up with Roc Nation and take things to another level.”
