Babyface & Toni Braxton Set To Release New Single From Their ‘Duets’ Album
For those of you who didn’t know Toni Braxton and Grammy Award winning producer Babyface are set to do an album together. After Toni announced her retirement from music Babyface who was key her success and also her musical mentor talked her out of it with the concept of them doing a duet album together.
‘Hurt You’ is gonna be the official lead single from their duets album, ‘Love, Marriage, Divorce,’ will premiere on August 19th. The info was disclosed on Island Def Jam’s website followed by news that the album will see a release in early 2014 on Motown Records.
Toni says “I feel great about the music, but this is the first time in my career that I’m not thinking about if this is gonna be a number-one song.”

Kim Kardashian Bashes Katie Couric on Twitter
Katie Couric seriously ticked KK off.Kim Kardashian took aim at talk show host Katie Couric on social media Friday afternoon with a decidedly pointed message.
The ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ reality celeb posted an Instagram photo of a baby gift that came from Barneys New York along with a note that offered congratulations to the new parents and was signed “Fondly, Katie Couric.”
She captioned the image with a couple of long-winded hashtags:

It turns out that Kim wasn’t thrilled when Couric recently said during an interview that she doesn’t understand why the Kardashians are so famous. She isn’t the first to beg the question and most certainly won’t be the last.
KK, who usually tries to take the high road in such matters, isn’t feeling so inclined. We find it interesting that aside from promoting ‘KUWTK’ on Sundays and offering a few birthday congrats, she has had very little contact with her 18 million Twitter followers since the birth of her baby in mid-June.
Perhaps motherhood and being cooped up for two months has altered the mindset of the most marketable of the Kardashian klan.
One of her outspoken sisters was surprised when she read the tweet. Khloe Kardashian responded, “God I love this new side of u! @kimkardashian”
Katie Couric was quick to respond. She told E! emphatically, “I’ve met Kim before and I think she’s a really sweet person. I was responding to a reporter’s question, and explaining how I’m intrigued by the public’s fascination with her family. I didn’t mean to hurt her feelings. The gift was genuine, and I’m happy for Kim and Kanye.”

NYC Files To Appeal Fed Judge's Stop & Frisk Unconstitutional Ruling
Recently NYC officials filed to appeal the federal ruling. It’s seen to be the next step in a long legal battle over Mayor Michael Bloomberg's preferred method of policing in the city. Mayor Bloomberg blasted talks of mayoral hopefuls Bill de Blasio, Bill Thompson, and Christine Quinn who all said that, if elected, they'll drop the police tactic. In a report from the New York Daily News, the mayor viewed it as nothing more than bombast.
“I don't think you can assume whatever's said during a campaign has anything to do with the reality of what they finally do,” said Mayor Bloomberg yesterday. The city's top lawyer, Michael Cardozo said via a statement that the city plans to push back against court's decision.
“As the Mayor and Police Commissioner Kelly said we strongly disagree with Judge Scheindlin's order,” said Cardozo. The layer then announced they would file the appeal.
The class-action lawsuit against the NYPD and stop-and-frisk began back in March, with a legal team from the Center of Constitutional Rights representing the plaintiffs in the case. A statement from the Center read that they were “disappointed” by the City's decision to appeal.
A source told Gothamist that the city has very little basis to win an appeal as Judge Scheindlin is viewed as a “strong judge.”

The queen of wigs and gossip is dishing out both!
Talk show host Wendy Williams is jumping on a new business venture. She’s launching a new wig collection, “Wendy Williams’ Hair World,” this fall…something she knows a lot about.
She doesn’t just wear them for fashion, but also because of a disease she was diagnosed with that thinned her hair.
Not many people know that she was diagnosed with thyroid disease fifteen years ago, and as a result her hair began thinning, which is how Wendy became an expert on all things glued on and clipped in. While speaking on the new collection recently, she revealed that early on her “hating a– girlfriends” is the reason why she’s stayed in the wig closet for so long, but now she’s embraced all of her ‘girls.’ She also said she doesn’t know why black men have a problem with wigs and weaves and expect black women to have that video chick long hair.
On why she started wearing wigs
I had to learn about ‘magic hair’ because my own hair became so thin as a result of my disease. I have long hair, but it’s too thin to do anything with it. Hair and skin are the first two things people see when they look at woman. Those two things have to be on point to be really in the game from my point of view.[...]I’m a big woman with a big personality. A big woman with a big personality cannot have little hair.

Most women of a certain age need a little help with their hair as time goes on. When I say most women, I mean black, white, and whatever. After 30, our hair begins to thin and it takes more work to look the way we want. Why not get some help?
Chris Rock and his film about hair aside, most black men as a rule have a real problem with fake hair for some reason, they want us [black women] to have a certain look that includes long hair, but then complain about you being fake and not natural. Natural is for personalities, not hair.
On Why She Previously Wouldn’t Admit to Wearing Wigs
Hating a** girlfriends—and that’s what they are, hating a**—are exactly why I stayed in the wig closet for so long. I would never admit to wearing wigs early on. I said I had a weave instead because they are bit more acceptable. Wigs have too long been considered just for those who are baldheaded or for the old lady who sits in the fourth pew in church every Sunday.
During a recent ‘After Show’ video on YouTube, Wendy gave a sneak peek at her wig line while her makeup artist was beating that face, saying she’s the only chick in the game wearing a wig on the daily.
“There are a lot of people with hair lines out, wigs and whatnot, but I am the only one who wears a wig every single day. I don’t wear weave. I don’t wear clip-in hair. I am wig. So, if you’re going to get a wig or you’re going to hear about wig talk, who better to hear from. I’ve got a PhD in Wigology.”

Isaiah Washington Makes a Come Back in His Role As the DC Sniper
After being fired from Grey’s Anatomy, for allegedly using a homophobic slur during an on-set argument with Patrick Dempsey, Isaiah Washington has been missing from television.
Isaiah Washington will be playing the infamous role of the D.C Sniper ( John Allen Muhammad) who along with his young accomplice (Lee Boyd Malvo) which his role will be played by 20 year old Tequan Richmond. Tequan is best known for his role as Drew, the younger brother of Chris on the hit show “Everybody Hates Chris”.
The movie depicts the life story of both men , who enters into a fake father and son relationship as the father forces the young boy into terrorizing , injuring and killing 10 innocent people back in 2002. The film, “Blue Caprice” which debuted at Sundance Film Festival, will be released in theaters on September 13, 2013 and VOD on September 17.
Jennifer Lopez Set To Return To "Idol," According To Casper Smart
Not a single judge who’s left “American Idol” has ever come back. Not Paula, not Ellen, not Simon. But now, it looks like Jennifer Lopez could be the first panelist to return to the judging block.
As the aging series enters its 13th season, JLo’s boyfriend Caspar Smart says “yes,” his lady has agreed to return. He let the news slip while promoting his new show “A Step Away.”
FOX-TV has yet to comment on the status of Miss Lopez, but it previously confirmed that Keith Urban has signed for a second consecutive season. JLo judged the series’ 10th and 11th seasons, alongside Randy Jackson and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler.
Several other celebrity names have been bandied about as possible replacements for season 12’s always-feuding Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. They include former “Idol” contestants Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken.
More recently, sources say big names like the Black Eyes Peas’ will.i.am and Fergie, as well as Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus have been considered.
In Production: The "Gabrielle Douglas Story" TV Movie Underway!
During the summer of 2013, we all watched Gabrielle Douglas make history as the first woman of color and the first African-American gymnast to become the individual all-around Olympic champion. And now, we've just learned that Hollywood producers are bringing the story of "Gabrielle Douglas " to life as a tv movie!
Courtesy of The YBF: They said that producers want the role to be played by a super petitie pre-teen actress. They want the great smile, the great eyes and some gymnastics and dance ability to boot.
Here's a synopsis of what the movie will cover:
"Gabrielle Douglas was born on December 31, 1995, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Gabby Douglas began formal gymnastics training at 6 years old and won a state championship by the time she was 8.
She moved away from her hometown and family in 2010 to pursue training with a world-renowned Olympic trainer, and was selected to compete with the U.S. Olympic women's gymnastics team at the 2012 Summer Olympics. There, Douglas became the first African American to win gold in the individual all-around event."
The movie starts shooting September 9th all the way through the end of October....in Winnipeg, Canada. So the release date may be before the year is over.
"THE GABBY DOUGLAS STORY" will be produced by Zev Braun, Philip Krupp and David Rosemont. Gregg Champion will be directing and Tracy Twinkie Byrd is the casting director.
