Ray Lewis To Retire At The End Of The NFL Season
The only thing missing at M&T Bank Stadium yesterday was Donna Summer bellowing out the words that would have best fit the moment.
“Last dance. Last chance, for love.
“Yes, it’s my last chance, for romance, tonight.”
As Ray Lewis danced his last dance on his adopted home turf late yesterday afternoon, an era came to an end even if his season did not. On Saturday, he and his Ravens teammates will play in Denver to try and keep alive the playoff hopes of a man who has played longer at middle linebacker than anyone in NFL history, but whatever happens there a chapter closed in Baltimore that won’t be reopened.
Five days ago, the Ravens’ 13-time Pro Bowl middle linebacker announced two things: He would finally be back in the lineup after tearing his right triceps loose from what anchors it on Oct. 14, and after Sunday’s wild card playoff game he would never play in Baltimore again. If things went right against the upstart Indianapolis Colts, he would be gone but not quite finished.
When you have spent 17 years in the business of wrestling grown men to the ground, for the end to come at 37 hardly is a surprise, but for Baltimore it was nearly as stunning as the announcement that their beloved Colts were gone.
Ray Lewis was 8 years old when the Baltimore Colts fled to Indianapolis, a move that went unnoticed in his young life. He had no idea that 13 years later he would arrive in Baltimore the same year the Ravens did, a kid from Florida with bulging eyes, beastly talent and seemingly a bone to pick with anyone wearing colors other than his own.
He would become the only middle linebacker the Ravens have really known so to imagine him gone now, was like Orioles fans imaging a lineup without Cal Ripken Jr. It happened, but who could believe it?
Perhaps not even Lewis, who sped down the street in front of the stadium just before 10 a.m. in a low-slung black sports car, the engine roaring but only silence surrounding him.
“I didn’t have anything playing in the car,” Lewis said after finishing his day with 13 tackles and a dropped interception in a 24-9 thumping of the Colts that was as resounding as some of his most memorable collisions. “I had no phone out. I didn’t have anything. (Teammate) Brendon (Ayanbadejo) rolled with me over here. He was bugging me to take a picture and capture all these things for Twitter. I was like, ‘I don’t do Twitter and all that stuff!’
“I was just in one of those moments where I just really wanted to appreciate the ride, to know that I came here at 18 (actually 21). I was a child then, but I’m 37 years old now. I’m a full-grown man. To be able to recap all of that so quickly is the ultimate. One thing about God’s will is that you can never see God’s will before it happens. You can only see it at the end of it. For His will to be done this way, I could ask for nothing else.”
By the time Lewis emerged for the pregame introductions, all 71,379 seats were jammed. The tunnel overflowed with players, coaches and media while his family stared down at him when he did “The Squirrel’’ one last time.
Lewis’ pregame dance has become a fixture of his arrival on home turf. Everyone knew it was coming yesterday, but few outside of Kirby Lee knew where it came from.
“This guy in my hometown named Kirby Lee used to always do this dance and the dance was called ‘The Squirrel,’ ” Lewis said. “I told him, ‘I’m going to do that dance some day.’ He was like ‘You’re not going to do it.’ Then one day they introduced the defense and I came out and just did it. Of course the crowd went crazy. After that they were like, ‘We need to see those dance steps again,’ so then it just kept on going and I started adding music to it and movie clips to it.”
Yesterday there were flames, smoke, everything but the voice of Donna Summer, who would have gotten what it meant just right: last dance, last chance for love, indeed.
That Lewis had come to love Baltimore and Baltimore had come to love him was clear long ago, but never more evident than in his final moment, when head coach John Harbaugh sent him back onto the field to play fullback in the team’s “victory formation’’ as quarterback Joe Flacco took the final snap and a knee.
As he rose Flacco intended to hand the ball to Lewis, a final acknowledgement of what the day had been about, but when he turned, well, last dance!
“They told me on second down they were going to send Ray in there for third down and get one more play out there so I knew he was coming in,’’ Flacco said. “That’s pretty cool to have that guy standing behind you.’’
So why didn’t he flip him the ball?
“Well, he’s already dancing (again). Then everybody just jumped on him.”
Soon after Lewis took a victory lap, pounding his heart and pointing to the fans that had refused to leave until he did. As he jogged, Flacco, normally a reticent man in public, wondered if his wife had listened to him.
“It’s one of the coolest things in football,’’ Flacco said of The Squirrel. “I wasn’t always necessarily a fan of it before I got here, but as soon as I saw it for the first time in person I was drawn in. I told my wife last night to make sure you bring your video camera so you can sit up in your seat and capture it. She said, ‘What are you talking about? I’m not going to bring a camera to the stadium and look like an idiot.’
“I said, ‘You got a bag don’t you? Just stick it in there.’ So hopefully she captured that moment. It will be pretty cool to be able to look back on it someday.”

Bloody Clothes of Jade Morris Found In Murder Suspect’s Apartment
According to a police report from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Brenda Stokes Wilson was charged with the murder of 10-year-old Jade Morris after DNA from bloody clothing in her apartment was matched to the missing girl.
Jade Morris was last seen with Brenda Stokes Wilson after the woman picked her up to take her Christmas shopping on Dec. 21.
Stokes Wilson was arrested the night of Dec. 21 after slashing a co-worker’s face with razor blades.
On Dec. 23, Stokes Wilson told Missing Persons Section detectives that she did not know Jade or her mother and refused to answer any other questions.
On that day, police also discovered that the car Stokes Wilson was driving the morning she picked up Morris was borrowed from that friend. That person told police what Stokes Wilson had been wearing the day that she borrowed the car.
The following day, police served a search warrant on Stokes Wilson’s apartment. Inside, they found the previously described clothes, which appeared to have blood on them.
They also impounded the borrowed car and later discovered blood evidence on its interior.
The homicide section assumed responsibility of the investigation on Christmas day. DNA was obtained from both parents to assist in identification if needed.
Detectives also looked at Stokes Wilson’s cellphone activity and began searching in the area of the Las Vegas Beltway and Interstate 15 based on that information.
Shortly after noon on Dec. 27, a person walking their dog in the vicinity of Dorrell and Lucero Lake discovered a body. The North Las Vegas Police Department was contacted.
LVMPD’s Homicide section, along with Crime Scene Analysis and the Clark County coroner’s office, also responded.
A complete autopsy was performed on Dec. 28 and the victim was positively identified as Jade Morris. Her cause of death was determined as multiple stab wounds.
Forensic analysis of the garments collected from Stokes Wilson’s apartment also came back as a match to the victim’s DNA on that day.
On Dec. 28, Brenda Stokes Wilson was re-booked in custody for the murder and kidnapping of Jade Morris.

Those lyrics became one of the most memorable rap lines of 2012 after Drake jumped on Rick Ross’ Stay Schemin track and referenced Kobe’s pending divorce to Vanessa Bryant. During that time, it had been reported that Kobe would have to hand over half of his fortune and three mansions to Vanessa as a result of their divorce settlement, which left most guys appalled. Drake had somehow given them a new anthem with those lyrics!
Although there was video that surfaced of fans chanting the, “She wasn’t with you shooting in the gym” lyrics to Kobe to show their support, The Bryant Family has never really addressed the song until now. Recently, in response to a few commenters who reminded her of the lyrics, Vanessa Bryant wrote on her Instagram:
I love when immature kids quote a rapper that has never been friends with Kobe and knows nothing about our relationship. Just shows how gullible they are. I don’t need to be in the gym. I’m raising our daughters, signing checks and taking care of everything else that pertains to our home life. [...]

Since my husband isn’t friends with Drake, we received a text of an apology forwarded from his manager. It’s done and over with and it’s now time for people to THINK before speaking.
Back in August, Amar’e Stoudemire’s fiancee Alexis Welch made a similar statement on the importance of a woman taking care of home so that her hubby could perform well on the court:
We all want to encourage our men and support them. This is a partnership. We’re going to get everything balanced, and that will be reflected on the court. I’m taking care of the household, making sure the kids are straight, the dog has his food, making sure Amar’e can be a dad at the end of the day, do something that has nothing to do with basketball.
Sadly, marriage is supposed to be a partnership but a lot of people nowadays do not look at it as such.

High School Student Suspended For Empathizing With Sandy Hook Shooter
A high school student from San Francisco was suspended for writing a poem empathizing with Sandy Hoook Elementary School shooter, Adam Lanza.
Courtni Webb, who attends Learning Life Academy penned a work in which she showed understanding towards Lanza's shooting spree. Last month, the 20-year-old killed 27 people, including 20 children.
“I understand the killing in Connecticut. I know why he pulled the trigger,” she wrote in the poem. “Misery loves company. If I can't be loved no one can.” Further down in the poem, Webb makes statements like “society never wants to take the blame,” which alarmed her teacher.
Officials got word of the work, after a teacher found the poem in Webb's notebook and concluded that it “contained deeply concerning, and threatening language related to the recent school shootings in Newtown, Connecticut.”
In an interview with NBC, Webb explained that her words were misunderstood. “Never in my life have I heard that you couldn't mention a tragedy that happened. I didn't say that I agree with it, I said I simply understand it,” she said, explaining
“I feel like they violated her freedom of speech,” Webb's mother added.
Webb could potentially be expelled for the poem.
Learning Life Academy, is a school for students who have been involved in the juvenile justice system.

We aren’t the least bit surprised about this latest petition. Valid or not, y’all play cousins STAY creating a petition for something. But some say that the following petition may be warranted. A woman by the name of Sabrina Lamb has created a petition to cancel the newly scheduled Oxygen show, featuring ATL rapper Shawty Lo. As most of you know (if you read this site), the show, called ‘All My Baby Mama’s’, features Shawty’s family, which of course, includes his 10 baby mama’s and 11 children. Uploaded to Change.Org, the petitioner writes the following letter to Oxygen decision makers:

Did Rob Kardashian Diss His Pregnant Sister Kim??
Robert Kardashian, 25, was excited to hear the news about his family’s new addition, he says he’d go about starting a family a different way.
“I’m so proud of my sisters, but I’ll be married before I have a baby,” Rob told People magazine.
Kim is the second sister of Rob’s to have children before getting married. Kourtney Kardashian has two children, Mason, 3, and Penelope, 6 months, with her longtime boyfriend Scott Disick.
Rob also revealed that Kim chose to share the baby news with her family members individually instead of making a big announcement to the group.
When asked about possible nuptials between Kim and Kanye, Rob doesn’t think it will happen anytime soon.
“I think everyone is just excited about and focused on the baby right now,” he explained.
Although there’s no Kimye wedding in the near future, Rob says the parents-to-be couldn’t be more thrilled about having their first child.
“Kim and Kanye are over the moon happy,” he gushed. “I’m so excited to be an uncle again!”

Apple Developers Testing Software For iPhone 6
Apple stays ahead of its own curve. Not even a full year after its iPhone 5 was released, the company is already testing the next installment.
Developers at Apple are said to be viewing reference hardware for what has been logged as the “iPhone 6,1” which will run on iOS 7.

Currently under development, traces of Apple's new iPhone and iOS software have begun surfacing in app usage logs. Developers have contacted The Next Web to share references to a new iPhone identifier and the next big operating system update for the smartphone and tablet devices: iOS 7.
One developer showed us that Apple has been testing hardware relating to a new ‘iPhone6,1′ identifier, powered by a device running iOS 7, which is expected to be released by Apple in the middle part of this year.
Apple's current flagship, the iPhone 5, bears the identifiers ‘iPhone5,1′ and ‘iPhone 5,2′ depending on the LTE model of the handset and the 4G bands on which it operates.
From the developer logs that we have seen, the app requests originate from an IP address on Apple's Cupertino campus, suggesting that members of Apple's software development and app teams are compatibility testing some of the more popular or well-known applications already on the App Store.
Although OS and device data can be faked, the unique IP footprint leading back to Apple's Cupertino campus leads us to believe this is not one of those attempts.
As of now there is no public information regarding software features, but developers began working on the new iOS 7 towards the end of last year.
Upon its release late fall, the Apple sold 5 million iPhone 5 phones in just three days.

From the looks of things, Beyonce isn’t just out here promoting “ratchet” without a purpose. She’s more than likely promoting a new single with Lady Gaga that may be hitting the Internet very soon.
Over the holiday break, Bey had the Internet going nuts after she posted a photo of herself wearing a pair of ratchet earrings to Instagram. According to a few keen eyed fans, Gaga Instagrammed a photo wearing a similar pair of earrings back in September of 2012 and the ladies are promoting a new song. Azealia Banks also confirmed in an interview last year that she recorded a track by the same name for Lady Gaga but she wasn’t sure if it was going to get released.
We worked via email and via Internet. We have a song called ‘Red Flame’ and we also have a song called ‘Ratchet.’ [But] I don’t know what she’s doing with it. She’s going to release it when she wants to release it. And yeah, I’m really excited about it.
This gives a lot of clarity to those random ratchet photos but are we ready for Lady Gaga and Beyonce to make ratchet a lifestyle in 2013? And what a great look for Azealia if the track is released with her contribution.

It’s said to have come to shacking up in seedy motel rooms – while delving deeper into drugs – for the 39-year-old mother of Ralph Tresvant’s children. That’s the latest word on the ex-wife of New Edition’s leading front man, Shelly Jean Tresvant, who’s said to have initially snapped after her ex-hubby did what he had to do “and break her heart”.

Sources say the split left Shelly Jean Tresvant distraught, leading her to encounter a string of arrests from a slew of drug-fueled doings. Now, the singer’s estranged ex-wife is reported homeless in Atlanta and addicted to alcohol and crack-cocaine.

The reported illegitimate son of Michael Jordan is said to have not known the identity of his dad, until Christmas 2012. According to a source, the Atlanta teen’s mother decided to use 2012′s holiday season to inform her teen son of the news.
Now the teen – Taj Jordan – may have finally discovered where his natural-born, athletically-gifted talents stem from.
