Hillary Clinton pays tribute to Nelson Mandela, 94, as she drops in for lunch and a chat

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had a lunch date with Nelson Mandela when she visited him at the rural village where South Africa's first black president is living out his retirement far from the public eye.

Her private meeting with the Nobel Peace Prize winner was the first event of her visit to the nation and an indication of the prestige still enjoyed by the man who led the fight against white-minority rule.

The two chatted in his home ahead of the meal, an honor that few now receive since Mandela has become increasingly frail with age.

Mandela, known in South Africa as Madiba, did not speak but smiled as he and his wife Graca Machel posed for a picture with Clinton.

'That's a beautiful smile!' Clinton, 64, said.

'Madiba's smile is a trademark,' Machel added.

Mandela was elected president in South Africa's first all-race elections in 1994, after spending 27 years as a political prisoner under the segregationist apartheid regime.

Clinton's husband, Bill, was the US president when Mandela took office. Their two families developed close ties, with Bill Clinton paying a visit to Mandela last month on the eve of his 94th birthday.

'Madiba not only represents all that there is great in the world, but (is someone) who to the secretary is a close friend... somebody who she has learned a lot from," a US official said ahead of Clinton's meeting.

A dozen police stood guard outside the property in Mandela's village in Eastern Cape province. Long accustomed to high-profile international guests, Clinton's motorcade attracted little attention as it rolled through.

Hillary Clinton last met Mandela almost exactly three years ago at his Johannesburg home, when she praised the influence that he had on her own life.

Members of the American business delegation include senior executives from Black & Veatch, Boeing, Chevron, EMD/Caterpillar, FedEx Express, GE, Symbion, Trimble, Wal-Mart, and Zanbato.
A trade mission also included the heads of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, the Export-Import Bank of the United States, the US Trade and Development Agency, as well as Robert Hormats, under secretary of state for economic growth, energy and the environment, and Francisco Sanchez, under secretary of commerce for international trade.

'South Africa is critically important to America's commercial interests on the continent,' said Scott Eisner, vice president of African Affairs at the US Chamber of Commerce.

'Expanding the US-South African commercial relationship is in the interests of companies and workers who produce goods exported and sold in South African markets. We applaud Secretary Clinton's attention to the importance of the growing economic relationship between our two countries.'

Clinton is set to leave South Africa on Thursday for Nigeria and then Benin. She is also expected in Ghana for the state funeral of late president John Atta Mills, before heading to Istanbul for talks on the crisis in Syria.

RHOA Rumors : Is Tobey Sanders The New Atlanta Housewife?

If you’re a fan of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta, you’ve followed the rumors and firings of the cast. Since last season ended, we learned that Sheree Whitfield would not be returning (rumors suggest that Sheree was fired, while Sheree suggests that she chose to leave). We’ve heard of a few rumored replacements since her departure. Over the summer, we learned that Kenya Moore would be a new cast member on the show. And now, we’ve learned of another potential addition. 

Her name is Tobey Sanders and she runs her own interior design business in Atlanta called, FauxDecor LLC. Here’s what we know:

She’s designed for a number of luxury homes and restaurants in Miami, Detroit, Washington, D.C. and Atlanta.
We’ve heard some rumblings about her love life (we’re gonna hold onto those for now), but she runs with a few Atlanta celebrities and socialites like Lance Gross, Keshia Knight Pulliam and Toya Wright.
She’s also pretty close friends with RHOA’s Phaedra Parks and Kandi, who she partied with over the weekend (she was at the party that Kandi threw for her boyfriend, Todd). 

Of course, this is all speculation at this point, but what do you think of the new potential cast mate? Stay tuned!

Lady Gaga Announces Album Title W/ Tattoo

Lady Gaga is taking her album announcement to a whole new level: the “Born This Way” singer revealed the CD’s title via a new tattoo.
Gaga, who already had nine tats, tweeted the following photo of herself with number 10, alongside the message:
“New ink new album.”
The new ink showed the words — and title of her new alum — “ARTPOP.”
Later, the platinum blonde star tweeted,

“Make sure when writing about my new album/project ARTPOP that you CAPITALIZE the title”.

Gaga originally revealed her plan to drop the album’s title in September before apparently getting antsy and releasing the name a month ahead of schedule.

Obama Files Lawsuit Against Ohio to Block New Voting Rules

President Obama has joined the head of the U.S. Department of Justice, Eric Holder in taking an active role in battling those states that are suddenly changing decades-old and centuries-old voting laws for this year’s election. The 44th president of the United States is suing the state of Ohio over changing election laws for the military, putting Obama’s re-election campaign and members of some military groups on a collision course over voting rights in the critical state of Ohio.
No Republican presidential candidate has ever won the White House after losing the state of Ohio. So the back-and-forth chess moves by the left and the right is to get an advantage in the all important Buckeye State.
The Obama campaign and the Democratic National Committee have filed a lawsuit to block a new state law allowing men and women in uniform to vote up until the Monday right before an election, while the cutoff on early voting for the rest of the public is three days earlier.

Obama campaign officials relayed to Fox News that they are not trying to restrict the voting rights of military members, but to keep the playing field level for all voters in Ohio, by allowing early voting up until Monday for everyone, including members of the military. They contend that a two-tiered, early-voting process is unfair.

“Along with the DNC and Ohio Democratic Party, this campaign filed a lawsuit to reinstate equal, early-voting rights for all Ohioans — rights the Republican controlled legislature arbitrarily stripped away this past year,” Jim Messina, Obama’s campaign manager, said in an email to supporters.
The National Guard Association and sympathizing military groups oppose Obama’s lawsuit vehemently, stating that it’s “offensive” for Democrats to suggest in the lawsuit it’s arbitrary for service members to get special consideration.
Men and women in uniform typically get more time than other voters to send in absentee ballots since they may be serving in an overseas or domestic location that is not close to their home polling station.

Michael Jackson Doctor Arnie Klein May Lose Medical License

Michael Jackson's dermatologist Arnie Klein is in danger of losing his medical license for refusing to take a mental exam.
Michael Jackson's former dermatologist Arnie Klein should NOT be allowed to practice medicine ... so says a CA Medical Board honcho who just filed a request to have Klein's medical license revoked.
The person behind the claim is Linda Whitney -- the Board's Executive Director of Consumer Affairs -- who claims Arnie has refused to undergo mandatory mental and physical examinations, in direct violation of the Board's orders.

Arnie -- one of MJ's closest friends and the doc who prescribed massive quantities of meds for the singer -- was ordered to undergo the examinations following an investigation into an anonymous complaint against the doctor back in 2010, alleging substandard care of two patients.
The patients have not been identified, so it's unclear if one of them was Michael Jackson.
Klein was ordered to submit to mental and physical examinations by June 8 -- but as we previously reported, the doctor refused, demanding to know who's behind the anonymous complaint.

Now, Whitney is asking the Board to pull the plug on his practice.
TMZ spoke with Klein's rep, Joel Douglas, who tells us ... "We're willing to cooperate, we just want to know the reasons behind the investigation. We're optimistic the court will be fair in the matter."

Rapper ‘Young Buck’ Checks into Prison

Well it looks like Rapper Young Buck has officially checked into prison today at Yazoo City Medium Security Federal Prison in southern Mississippi. According to TMZ the G-Unit rapper started an 18-month prison sentence, for possessing guns.
The weapons were found in August of 2010, when IRS agents raided his mansion over back taxes.

Agents found a weapon in the house which was not registered to, or legally owned by the rapper.

Lil’ Scrappy & Erica Dixon Engaged : Scrappy Professes His Love In Interview

There were a lot of rumors going around that there would not be an actual reunion for the hit show Love And Hip-Hop Atlanta but Mona Scott is now coming out with information regarding the highly anticipated Reunion show which has been recently been taped.

“We are absolutely having a reunion show,” said Mona in a New York Q&A session for “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta,” which you can watch to your left.
“And it will be a traditional format…it will have all the cast on the stage,” added Mona.
Reportedly Lil Scrappy has now chosen the woman he wants to be with after some back and forth between his babys mom Erica Dixon and his “friend” Shay aka “Buckey”.

In a recent interview lil Scrappy reveals that he didn’t really know how much His baby’s mom Erica felt about him until he got to wath a few episodes of the show.

“She never showed me that without the cameras. Seeing her talk with her friends and just coming out like that I was like wow, that’s my mother f***** there you f*** with me like that,” SCRAPPY explained.
During the reunion show sources say Shay got up an ran out when Scrappy proposes. I guess we have to see to find out what actually happened.

Jeremy Lin ‘Chink in the Armor’ Headline Writer Fired by ESPN

An ESPN writer got a little out of hand and too comfortable with his job and posted a headline with an ethnic slur. The writer wrote the headline “Chink in the Armor” referencing the New York Knicks’ loss Friday night against the New Orleans Hornets. The verbiage was only up for a little over a half-hour before being taken down, but the damage was done and warranted the network issuing an apology.
But that’s not the end of the racial madness.

The issued apology also included a ‘sorry’ for ESPN anchor Max Bretos’s comment last Wednesday night.
He stated: “If there is a chink in the armor, where can Lin improve his game?”
This marked the third incident about Lin the network let slip.

The statement reads:
“At ESPN we are aware of three offensive and inappropriate comments made on ESPN outlets during our coverage of Jeremy Lin. “Saturday we apologized for two references here. We have since learned of a similar reference Friday on ESPN Radio New York. The incidents were separate and different. We have engaged in a thorough review of all three and have taken the following action:

The ESPN employee responsible for our Mobile headline has been dismissed.
The ESPNEWS anchor has been suspended for 30 days.
The radio commentator is not an ESPN employee.
We again apologize, especially to Mr. Lin. His accomplishments are a source of great pride to the Asian-American community, including the Asian-American employees at ESPN. Through self-examination, improved editorial practices and controls, and response to constructive criticism, we will be better in the future.”

Cynthia Bailey CELEBRATES Turning "45" Disco Style

Over at Bar One in Atlanta, Peter Thomas' wife, "RHOA" star Cynthia Bailey, celebrated her 45th birthday.

The event carried a disco-theme and also served as a birthday party for Cynthia's good friend April. Cynthia wore a dress from Zang Toi's 2012 collection.

Peter had the bar decorated with disco balls and there was a blinged out candy station area with vintage candies. Guests sipped champagne and were given sparkly tiaras and glow sticks.

Cynthia and April also had a cute three-tier cake. I wonder who's on the record (an old 45) on the top tier?

We knew this was coming; Bobby Kristina's Ex Boyfriend on Inside Edition

Bobbi Kristina's ex boyfriend Zach Jafarzadeh says Bobbi Kristina and Whitney Houston were more like sisters.
INSIDE EDITION is getting an insight into the tensions and turmoil of Whitney Houston's private life, from someone who knows the family very well.

Zach Jafarzadeh dated Houston's daughter, Bobbi Kristina, for more than two years.
"There was a power struggle at that household," Jafarzadeh told INSIDE EDITION's Diane McInerney.

He would spend hours hanging out with Houston and Krissi, as he called Bobbi Kristina, at Houston's mansion in Atlanta.
He said Bobbi Kristina loved her mother dearly but they would have major blowups.
"They would fight, they almost felt like they were sisters," said Jafarzadeh.
McInerney asked, "What would they fight over?"

"Anything. If there wasn't milk in the refrigerator or something. There would be an outburst," responded Jafarzadeh.

Jafarzadeh says he never saw Houston do drugs but was aware from his time at the house that it was a big problem.
Jafarzadeh said, "Everybody knows Whitney had a drug struggle. She had a hard time with drugs and it was obvious in the house that that was happening."

McInerney then asked, "In what way was it obvious that Whitney was battling drugs?"
"There would be days when she was extremely ecstatic, happy, being outgoing having a good time, and next day, sad and down, on the couch watching TV all day," said Jafarzadeh.
Strangely, Jafarzadeh said Houston and her daughter had a role reversal.
"Krissi was the parent sometimes. She always looked out for her mom. Anything that was going on with her mom, if her mom felt sick, was down for the day, Krissi would comfort her mom, talk to her, try to get her to go out," said Jafarzadeh.

Bobbi Kristina herself hit the headlines last year when the National Enquirer showed photos of her reportedly doing cocaine.
Jafarzadeh admits he leaked the photos to 

the Enquirer and now regrets that decision. He said, "I wish I had never done it. If I could say anything to Krissi, I would say, 'I am so sorry for any stress I caused her.' 

Jafarzadeh says Houston allowed her teenage daughter to drink booze.
"She'd rather have Krissi at the house drinking, than out partying and drinking, getting in trouble," said Jafarzadeh. He continued and said, "If she had let Bobbi Kristina go out and do what she wanted to, I think it would have been a lot worse."

Jafarzadeh says he knows the heartache his ex-girlfriend is going through now after losing her mom.
McInerney asked, "Did she want to be like her mom?"

"Yeah, of course. She looked up to her mom so much, her mom was huge, she was the best, she had so much personality. They really had a very extremely close relationship. Krissi needs her right now," said Jafarzadeh.

Toni, Toni, Toni, Miss Braxton looked FAB as she wowed the crowed in L.A!

She has six Grammys and seven American Music Awards to her name so there is little doubt that Toni Braxton can belt out a song.
But at her performance last night the 45-year-old singer’s voice was not the only thing wowing the crowd – her outfit was just as show stopping. 

Toni took to the stage at the Nokia Theatre in LA in a dramatic purple dress which boasted a waist-high split, backless detail and sheer material.

The Un-break my heart singer looked much younger than her years in the daring ensemble which looked considerable similar to a Richard Tyler dress she wore to the 2001 Grammy Awards.
Toni teamed the see-through purple and black dress with a sequin-embellished body and matching strappy heels. 

As she strutted across the stage she showed off her toned thighs and trim shape – which would rival women half her age.

The Braxton Family Values star hinted on Twitter that she would like to be a judge on the next series of the X Factor ahead of her concert.
Responding to a fan she posted: ‘@ Jasmine_Sharee: @SimonCowell I'm thinking you should make@tonibraxton a judge on @thexfactorusa...yup that sounds epic to me” aww thanks!’

Don Cornelius Memorial Service Held

While the world became so entangled in Whitney Houston’s sudden death. We near;y forgot about another sudden death that happen as well. Don Cornelius was remembered last week at a private ceremony, that took place at Forest Lawn in Los Angeles. Hundreds of family, friends, entertainers, sports figures and even some former “Soul Train” dancers gathered to honor Don Cornelius’ legacy and recall their recollections of the baritone-voiced host and entrepreneur. 

The nearly three-hour memorial service featured plenty of laughter and music, including several photos of Don Cornelius on the show’s set were displayed for the gathering, which ended with clips of the popular host dancing and delivering his signature sign-off, “Love, Peace and Soul!!!’’
The Rev. Jesse Jackson delivered a eulogy that centered on how Don Cornelius’ creation created a platform for black music and culture that hadn’t been seen on television when “Soul Train’’ debuted in 1970. “Don, we say thanks for being conductor of the Soul Train and laying the tracks,’’ Jackson said. “We thank you because we needed you so badly and you helped us so much.’’ Several speakers noted that Don didn’t just give a platform to performers — but he also gave opportunities to black cameramen and demonstrated that television programming aimed at black audiences was viable.

Pastor Donnie McClurkin, who led the service, noted that his mother didn’t allow her children to listen to popular music.

But when she went grocery shopping on Saturdays, he and his siblings caught up on all the latest dance moves and music by watching “Soul Train.’’

Don Cornelius’ granddaughter Christina said that to the world, her grandfather was a visionary and trailblazer. “He was all those things. But to me he was just grandpa,” she said, breaking down. “My smooth voiced, loving grandpa.” Several other speakers spoke, including Don Cornelius’ son Tony, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Smokey Robinson, and Stevie Wonder gave a rousing performance of “Love’s In Need of Love.” REST IN PEACE DON!

Keyshia Cole Takes Son Shopping in L.A.

Keyshia Cole spent her Saturday shopping with her son DJ Gibson on Robertson Blvd. in West Hollywood. The stylish mother and child (check out DJ’s Gucci boots) got caught by the paparazzi while perusing the trendy shops.
The devoted wife and mother recently revealed that she has recorded a duet with Ashanti for her fifth album Woman to Woman and is in the process of selecting the first single.

“Picked 4 singles today! Mixing on Monday! We also picked a network for the reality show #FamilyFirst!!! Excited,” tweeted the blonde singer.

TMZ has obtained new documents in the nasty divorce between Terrence and Michelle Howard. Michelle has accused Terrence of smacking her in the face and chipping her tooth with his wedding ring, slugging her in the face and neck and threatening to throw her off a balcony ... the list goes on. 

Terrence has denied all the allegations, but he says, "I am gravely concerned that her actions have had an incredibly negative effect on my career and my ability to obtain future work as an actor."

Terrence's agent, Jim Toth -- Reese Witherspoon's hubby -- submitted a declaration in which he says Terrence has not received any "suitable offers" since the allegations were made, and he only pulled in $60,000 for his last project which ended in September.

Oprah Winfrey Could Be Returning To The Big Screen In A New Lee Daniels Movie

Oprah Winfrey may return to acting in what would be her first live-action movie since 1998’s Beloved. Oprah is mulling an offer to co-star in The Butler, Precious director Lee Daniels’ story of Eugene Allen, a black man who worked as butler in the White House, serving eight presidents from 1952 to 1986. Sources say that Lee Daniels wants David Oyelowo, who starred in the recent Tuskegee Airmen action film Red Tails and will appear in Daniels’ upcoming thriller The Paperboy, to portray the butler. A driver for Kanye West found out the hard way that you don't keep Yeezy waiting...
Kanye, in London preparing for fashion week, sent his driver out to pick up his lunch. Why did it take Driver two hours to get back?

A source tells the Sunday Mirror,

"The driver left at 1pm and didn't make it back until 3pm, when the head of security told him: 'I'm sorry but I'm going to have to let you go. You took too long and Kanye got p**sed off. He was really hungry'."
Driver blames the hold up on London traffic and is said to be considering an unfair dismissal lawsuit against Kanye.

Evelyn Lozada's Wedding Shoot For "ESSENCE.COM"

Evelyn Lozada (currently planning a wedding to Chad Ochocinco) recently sat down with ESSENCE.com for a white-wedding themed photoshoot.

She told that mag that Chad is in charge of music and entertainment for the occassion but she's still deciding on bridesmaids. When asked if any of her "BBW" co-stars be in the wedding she said, "Depends on how season four plays out. Be sure to watch!"

She was styled for the gorgeous shoot by celebrity bridal stylist LuLu Amin who said,
“We really wanted to celebrate her recent engagement by decking her out in the latest couture collection, fresh off the runway from internationally renowned bridal atelier Ines Di Santo.”

Heidi to Seal Just 'Stay away' I’m going forward with the divorce!

Heidi Klum is 'moving forward' with her divorce from Seal.
The German supermodel - who parted ways from the Kiss From A Rose singer last month after almost seven years of marriage - reportedly thinks it's 'best to be away' from her estranged husband as the former couple come to terms with their marital split.

An insider explained: 'They have had very little contact and Heidi wants to keep it this way. She feels less stressed out now and feels it's best to be away from Seal, so she doesn't get confused about her feelings.

'She is moving forward with the divorce.'

While the couple - who raise four children, Leni, seven, Henry, six, Johan, five, and two-year-old Lou, together - were previously both wearing their wedding rings, it is thought they have given up hope that they might be able to 'work it out' and both Seal and Heidi have been spotted without their bands. 

The source added to People.com: 'They had both been wearing their wedding rings and had mutually thought they might be able to work it out. But it doesn't look like it's going that way.'

Following the split, Seal admitted he was keen to continue to wear his wedding ring as a 'token' of how he feels about Heidi and he had 'no intention' of removing the band anytime soon.
He recently said: 'I think it's just pretty much a token of how I feel about this woman. We have eight years. Eight wonderful years together. 

'Just because we have decided to separate doesn't necessarily mean you take off your ring and you're no longer connected to that person.
'Will we wear the ring for the rest of our lives? Who knows? But right now it feels really comfortable on my hand so I have intentions of taking it off anytime soon.'
