BEEF ENDED: Spike Lee Finally Ends BEEF With Tyler Perry
In an interview with Ed Gordon, Lee discussed the characters comparing them to those in a minstrel show, stating:
Each artist should be allowed to pursue their artistic endeavors, but I still think there is a lot of stuff out today that is coonery and buffoonery. I know it’s making a lot of money and breaking records, but we can do better. I am a huge basketball fan, and when I watch the games on TNT, I see these two ads for these two shows (Tyler Perry’s “Meet the Browns” and “House of Payne”), and I am scratching my head. We got a black president, and we going back to Mantan Moreland and Sleep ‘n’ Eat?
Perry decided to fire back and respond to Lee in a press conference while promoting ‘Madea’s Big Happy Family’ in 2011.
I’m so sick of hearing about damn Spike Lee. Spike can go straight to hell! You can print that. I am sick of him talking about me, I am sick of him saying, ‘this is a coon, this is a buffoon.’ I am sick of him talking about black people going to see movies. This is what he said: ‘you vote by what you see,’ as if black people don’t know what they want to see.
Well in a recent interview with Hot 97, Lee explained:
I’ve never ever said that Tyler Perry was not a good businessman. I’ve never ever said that Tyler Perry did not provide many jobs for people of color. And in fact, me and Tyler Perry are cool so there’s no beef between us – supposed beef between us. Him and I were together and there’s no actual static or ill feelings between me and Tyler Perry. I’ve never ever ever said I’m speaking on behalf of 45 million African Americans. I say this is my opinion and my opinion alone.
12 Former FAMU Students Charged With Manslaughter For Hazing Death
Twelve former members of Florida A&M University's Marching 100 band are being charged with manslaughter for the 2011 hazing death of drum major Robert Champion. Ten of the 12 accused were previously charged with felony hazing last May, but the prosecution announced that the charges have been upgraded to manslaughter. Additionally, two more defendants have been charged with the same crime.
The charges stem from a November 2011 incident that occurred on the band's bus at the Rosen Plaza hotel in Orlando after Florida A&M played Bethune-Cookman in their annual rivalry football game. It was there that Champion received a heinous beating during the admittedly normal "Crossing Bus C" hazing ritual.
The blunt trauma the 26-year-old received to his chest, arms, shoulder and back caused internal bleeding, which led to his untimely death. Witnesses told emergency dispatchers that Champion was vomiting before he was found unconcious aboard the bus.
While it isn't immediately clear why State Attorney Jeff Ashton chose to upgrade charges, criminal defense lawyer Michael Grieco, a former felony division chief for the Miami-Dade County State Attorney's Office, believes prosecutors could be raising the risk to the other defendants "by having a more threatening hammer" in an effort to force a plea deal.
It's also notable that Grieco represented rapper Gunplay, who just beat a life sentence.
Manslaughter is a second-degree felony in Florida, and if found guilty, the 12 former band members will face up to 15 years in prison.
Champion's death has since been covered in national publications, as well as notable programs like HBO's Real Sports With Bryant Gumbel and ESPN's Outside The Lines.

Singer and the designer's muse Ciara was spotted in Paris where she sat front row for the Givenchy Fall/Winter 2013 Ready-to-Wear collection.
Grammy-winner Frank Ocean was also spotted arriving for the show.
And Kim (who was spotted in LA a few days ago) arrived in town to join Kanye who was there to support his good friend, Givenchy designer Ricardo Tisci:

Oh Lawd! Jaden Smith Dating Kim Kardashian’s Little Sister
Nothing like teenage love, especially when your parents are rich, famous and the photogs follow your every move. Apparently, we aren’t the only ones that think Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s youngest son, Jaden, is adorably handsome. US Weekly reports that the 14-year-old is dating Kim Kardashian’s sister, Kylie Jenner. Paps have spotted the two together, quite a few times, which doesn’t mean anything really. However, an ‘insider’, spilled the tea (or hell, maybe Kris Jenner did) that the two ‘go together’ (my words, not theirs). The mystery person reports:
“They’re dating,. It’s new, but they’ve been friends forever.” LOL. Cute…I guess?

Ladies everywhere run for the tissue box! According to Essence.com , Idris Elba is taking a break from making movies this year to focus on music. Elba, is actually known across the entertainment industry for being a pretty dope DJ. He spins using the name DJ Driis and even current master of the craft Young Guru has given him major props on social media for his DJ’ing skills.
But, it still doesn’t take away from the hurt some women will no doubt feel, knowing they won’t be able to see him on film for a while after his next few projects release! So, girls, guess you better make sure to get out there to the theaters and soak him up while you can when; Pacific Rim, Thor: The Dark World and Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom all hit screens later this year!

Lenny Kravitz No Longer Playing Marvin Gaye In Upcoming Biopic
Lenny Kravitz is now out of an acting gig. Originally announced to be portraying Marvin Gaye in an upcoming biopic, the rock star has been replaced with accomplished actor Jesse L. Martin (Law & Order).
Deadline reports that Martin will be playing the late Gaye in the forthcoming Julien Temple produced film called S-xual Healing. When Kravitz was announced as the long in the works project's lead, it was titled Midnight Love. The movie will still focus on the R&B crooner's career after 1981 and during the recording of his Midnight Love album (where his hit single "S-xual Healing" appears) while in London and Brussels when he was battling drug addiction, sorting out tax troubles and trying to get his life in order.
The film is scheduled to start shooting later this month in Europe.
Martin was actually slated to play the role of Gaye five years ago. At that time, actor James Gandolfini was producing the picture.
When Kravitz was announced to be playing the lead this past November, there were some objections, with some pointing at Kravitz's fair skinned complexion as a cause for concern. Also, Gaye's son, Marvin Gaye III, who went to school with Kravitz, threatened to sue the production. "The producers and directors of this film are very wrong and shameful ... [They're] trying to do a film about a low period in his life. They don't even know the whole story," Gaye III told TMZ.
On April 1, 1984, Gaye was shot dead in his bedroom in Los Angeles at the hands of his own father. He was 44 years-old.
Meek Mill And Chris Brown Let It Go At The Strip Club!
Nope! Not that kind of let it go! Chris Brown and Meek Mill let go of the beef that’s been between them since that fateful night in NYC when Breezy and Drizzy lost their ever loving minds! According to TMZ there isn’t much a stripper or two can’t fix, as the two made up over the weekend at a shake em up spot in Charlotte, NC called Cameo Nightclub.
TMZ reports that the two haven’t been spotted out together since that night at the W.I.P. nightclub in NYC last summer. And even though reports claimed that Meek had a lot to do with the fight jumping off, he denied those claims. At any rate it’s nice to hear they are behaving like young gentlemen, well as much as young men can behave like gentlemen at a strip club!

Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson Named First ‘R&B Hall Of Fame’ Inductees
Much to R&B lovers delight, a recent press release confirms that Cleveland, Ohio will be home to the first induction ceremony of the R&B Music Hall Of Fame – a newly designed museum to include “state-of-the-art, highly interactive, virtual reality experience” to honor popular music’s legendary R&B artists.
Like its ‘Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’ counterpart, its inductees will include artists who have made considerable impact on the genre as it relates to its evolution and incorporation into mainstream music.
First up? None more fitting than the late, great icons Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston…

“The class of the 2013 induction includes Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, James Brown, The Temptations, Otis Redding, The O’Jays, Dick Clark, Gerald Levert, Aretha Franklin…”
The aforementioned are just a few of the 25 names unveiled as the facility’s inaugural class. And, while many of them are already inductees into the ‘Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’, the measure still speaks to these ever-expansive impact over several genres of music.
After the May 5, 2013 induction ceremony in Cleveland, it is said the R&B Hall of Fame will unveil what city has been chosen to be its permanent home. Until then, fans can click here to see which 25 acts made the cut of the Hall’s first inductees.

The ‘We Found Love’ singer Rihanna was offered $8 Million to turn on some Christmas Lights at a London mall. Tell me how can I get a job like that!!
A source with insider knowledge of Westfield mall in East London said:
“Rihanna’s thrilled. She knows it’s a big deal and is totally up for it – if it fits in with her schedule. Westfield have had a great year due to the Olympics and want to fork out to celebrate. Even though the final contract is still being thrashed out, they’re prepared to pay up to £5 million for her. They are expecting around 20,000 people to swamp the park.”
In return for the big payday, Rih will also be obligated to perform a mini concert for more than 20 thousand people who are expected to attend the annual event.
DJ Drama Says He Wants To See T.I. Help End Rick Ross & Jeezy Beef
In a recent interview with ThisIs50.com, DJ Drama speaks on the ongoing and re-established beef between Rick Ross and Young Jeezy. Drama, who has worked with both artists says that he would like the help of fellow ATLien to help mediate the situation. Continue on to check out the video.
Around the 2:18 minute mark DJ Drama recounts that faithful day backstage at the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards when Ross and Jeezy ran into each other. He explains that from what he saw, Ross and Jeezy never touched eachother and that most of the pushing and shoving was done by security.

The interviewer even asked Weezy if he's heard Fabolous' joint titled "So New York" where the Brooklyn bred rapper claims he's so New York Weezy probably doesn't like him.
Lil Wayne responded he's been hard at work in the studio and that he really doesn't have the time to focus on what people are saying about him. Lil Wayne also admits to the fact that he hasn't listened to Fabolous' song. In fact, Lil Wayne says he doesn't listen to anyone's music but his own!! Go figure!!

Guests beelined to the doors in disappointment.
