Mary Mary: Erica and Tina Campbell’s Father Dies Of Cancer
Very sad news for Erica Atkins-Campbell and Trecina “Tina” Atkins-Campbell of gospel group, ‘Mary Mary’. Last week, they lost their father, Eddie Atkins Jr., to cancer.

The duo confirmed the news on twitter:
Our Dad was a great man, but he’s with Jesus now he taught us how to pray & trust God. Our hearts are heavy but we can rejoice knowing our father knew we loved him. RIP Elder Eddie A. Atkins Jr. Rest in the arms of Jesus Daddy.

Tina and Erica have expressed heartfelt thanks to fans for reaching out to them with prayers of support.
The Campbell sisters shared in a public message on Sunday:
Erica and Tina Campbell (Mary Mary) would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all who have reached out to them during this difficult time. The ladies have been overwhelmed by the love and support of their peers, colleagues, fans, and friends and want to share the below message with you:
"Our dad was a powerful man. Our family had it's challenges but our love superseded it all. We had the opportunity to profess our love for our father. We were able to tell him how much we loved him, valued him, and how much life had helped us to understand the things that we couldn't for many years. Our dad was a man of immense physical and spiritual strength. He always covered us in prayer. He warned us when hardships were coming, taught us how to pray through, fight on, and overcome life's challenges. What better gift can a man give his family. Our family prayed and thanked God for our dad's life and healing on Monday night and God chose to give him the ultimate healing on Tuesday afternoon, which was a transfer from life on earth to life in Heaven. God sent him out better than we ever could've imagine and for that, we will be forever grateful. We love our daddy dearly, respect him highly, and will remember him always."

The award-winning singers publicly acknowledged their father's death last week after it was revealed that Atkins Jr. had died on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, in Los Angeles.
Atkins Jr., who had married and divorced the sisters' mother, Thomasina "Honey" Atkins, three times, had appeared on their reality television show on Wetv. He has been described as "a community leader (and) youth minister" and credited with laying the foundation for Erica and Tina Campbell's "broad reaching musical platform that allows them to deliver their brand of gospel music not just to the church but to the masses regardless of their walk of life (and) spiritual understanding."

The network this week shared a deleted scene from the "Mary Mary" reality show in which the sisters"share a moment of compassion when having a conversation about their father." The clip, titled "Mary Mary: A Father's Love – Deleted Scene," can be viewed below, or at Wetv.
Mary Mary, reportedly named after the Bible's Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Jesus, has won several awards since their 2000 debut album Thankful, and the group won for Best Group and Best Gospel Artist at the 2013 BET Awards, which aired last night on the BET network.

We send our Condolences!

BET To B. Scott: ‘You’re Not Allowed To Host Pre-Show In High Heels'?

BET To B. Scott: ‘You’re Not Allowed To Host Pre-Show In High Heels’!
Oh WOW…This is according to NewsOne! Beloved multi-media maven, B. Scott, was allegedly told by Black Entertainment Television (BET) that he couldn’t wear high heels to host the 2013 BET Awards pre-show red carpet, and infuriated fans have taken to social media to demand an apology on behalf of the gender-bending internet celebrity.

Since news of the discriminatory decision began to circulate around #BlackTwitter, droves of fans have voiced their support for the androgynous mega-personality, including A-List couple, Nicole Ari Parker and Boris Kodjoe:

Scott also received support from Procter & Gamble:

With BET being known for its hypersexualized and inappropriate award shows, it is laughable that they would choose to exhibit misplaced morality when it comes to B. Scott.

This is, after all, a show which featured R. Kelly ( an alleged pedophile who enjoys urinating on minor girls), coming from a network which regularly rewards misogyny, violence and sexism. In award shows past, they allowed rapper Lil’ Wayne to perform ‘I Wish I Could F*ck Every Girl In The World’ with underage girls (we’re talking 11- or 12-years old) shimmying across the stage.

This is a network that segues from the pulpit to ‘p**sy poppin’ without blinking an eye — Hallelujah, now pass the collection plate so I can get 1 dollar bills for Nicki Minaj’s performance –  but a gay man wearing high heels is inappropriate?
BET likes to claim ‘We Got You,’ but apparently not if you’re a gender non-conforming man with a fierce shoe game.

The network has yet to acknowledge the situation or issue an apology;  however, if they have a modicum of class, it won’t be long before they do.
It is 2013. This kind of blatant homoantagonistic discrimination is unacceptable and should not be tolerated.

Twitter reacts to B. Scott controversy:

BET Correct the wrongdoings!

TEA SIPS: Did Omarosa Mother PUNCH Claudia Jordan in THE FACE?

TEA SIPS! Claudia Jordan ACCUSES Omarosa's 65-Year-Old MOTHER Of PUNCHING HER At The BET Awards!
Apparently all the action was OUTSIDE of the 2013 BET Awards as D-list "Celebrity Apprentice" star Claudia Jordan had a fight with the 65-mother of Omarosa!
I'm sorta used to rappers getting into altercations at awards shows....but there were a few female "stars" (and we use that term VERY loosely) showing their ratchetness tonight. Out on the red carpet, "Celebrity Apprentice" alum Claudia Jordan filed a police report alleging that the mother of her frenemy Omarosa, punched her!

TMZ reports that Omarosa and Claudia had an all out war of words on the red carpet and the "B" word was thrown around a lot.  Following the verbal fight, sources claims that Omarosa's mom jumped in and punched Claudia in the arm!  Of course...security stepped in and Claudia filed a police report!   She later tweeted, "Wow, that awkward moment when you're assaulted on the red carpet."

But, Omarosa told TMZ that Claudia started the incident by pushing her 65-year-old mother!
“I am deeply saddened by Claudia Jordan actions at the BET Awards. After all that my family and I been through this year. She should show at least an ounce of decency and respect “

I'll let you know if they met up in the parking lot afterwards! LOL!
